Schodack, NY is located in the heart of Rensselaer County and is known for its small-town charm. It has a rich political history that dates back to the early 1800s when it was established as a township. Since then, the town has seen many different candidates come and go in local elections. In recent years, Schodack citizens have seen the election of long-time mayor Harry G. Daley, who served from 2013 until 2019. He was succeeded by current mayor Matthew J. Kiefer, who has been in office since 2019. The town also has a representative in the New York State Assembly—Democrat Patricia Fahy—who was first elected in 2012 and reelected three times since then, most recently in 2018. She has worked tirelessly to ensure that all of Schodack’s residents have access to high-quality services and opportunities to thrive within their own community.
